Description

Radial IceCube IC-1 is a balanced line isolator capable of reducing hum and noise caused by ground loops and stray DC voltage. It has a wide frequency response and is optimized to operate in the range from -30 dB to +15 dB with both balanced and unbalanced devices. IceCube IC-1 can solve many problems in applications where maintaining the full audio spectrum is essential.

The Radial IceCube IC-1 is a balanced line isolator: simply inserting it into the signal path quickly eliminates hum and noise in an audio system.

Main Features of IceCube IC-1

  • Eliminates hum & noise caused by ground loops
  •
  • Exceptional linear response from 20Hz to 18kHz
  •
  • Handles pro-level outputs without issues
  •
  • Plug & play ease of use with XLR in & out

IceCube IC-1 features a compact design with two fiberglass-reinforced nylon XLRs at each end, and durable, oxidation-proof nickel-silver contacts, all within a space of just 10cm x 4cm. Unlike other plastic isolators, IceCube is made from rugged 16-gauge powder-coated steel. The outer steel shell is not only more durable but also provides excellent shielding against electromagnetic fields radiated by power cables, dimmers, motors, and power supplies – resulting in consistently quieter performance when active. This feature is enhanced by a 'set & forget' ground lift switch that eliminates hum and noise caused by ground loops.

Inside the IceCube, an exclusive Eclipse transformer isolates the input from the output and blocks stray DC currents. While small transformers rarely operate well below 100 Hz, the IceCube is exceptionally linear from 20Hz to 18kHz.

Inside the IceCube, an exclusive Eclipse transformer isolates the input from the output and blocks stray DC currents. While small transformers rarely operate well below 100 Hz, the IceCube is exceptionally linear from 20Hz to 18kHz. It can also withstand up to +10dB at 20Hz with less than 0.01% distortion. This is a quick and simple problem solver that will eliminate noise without limiting bandwidth or introducing phase inversion. These characteristics make the IceCube an ideal device for AV technicians and sound engineers working in the fast-paced world of live touring, AV rentals, and system integrations.

IceCube IC-1™ - Applications

Isolate a DJ mixer from the console

Connect a pair of IceCubes between your mixer and the main PA to free the system from hum or noise caused by ground loops.

Isolate a crossover from a power amplifier

Eliminating noise problems can take hours of searching to find a solution. IceCube solves the equation with a plug-and-play solution that works every time.
