The RGA series from the Japanese brand Ibanez offers Superstrat-type electric guitars. These instruments are based on the specifications of the well-known RG series, with the added 'A' in the name standing for "arched top." The fast, flatter necks, lighter weight, and distinctive cutaways with elegantly pointed horns for easy movement across the entire fretboard are the reasons for the extreme popularity of these instruments among rock and metal guitarists.

The body of the RGA42HPQM-BIG is made of exotic nyatoh wood, adorned with a spectacular quilted maple veneer. A jatoba fingerboard with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets is glued to a fast, narrow Wizard III maple neck. The thermal treatment of the maple neck enhances its characteristics, giving the guitar the look and feel of a mature/played instrument. White offset position dots facilitate orientation around the fingerboard surface.
