Ibanez RG 540PII Desert Sun Yellow

The 540PⅡ-SH (or 540PII-SH) is a Power Series guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1988 as part of the Roadstar Pro series. It was produced in Japan by FujiGen.

540PⅡ models are based on a new "reversed RG style" body shape with a long, pointed lower horn. This replaced the older Power series body, introduced in 1987.

The 540PⅡ-SH features a basswood body with a bolt-on cutaway heel maple Wizard neck with an inverted headstock and a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth inlays. Components include a pair of DiMarzio-made IBZ/USA pickups with an F3 humbucker at the bridge and a C2 noiseless stacked single coil at the neck, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge, and a pickguard mounted under the pickups.

The 540PⅡ-HH model is a similar model with two humbucking pickups. Both 24-fret 540PⅡ models were only available to the Japanese and European markets. The 540PSH and 540PHH models are similar models offered in the US market with 22-fret necks and without a pickguard.
