The AU series features a truly unique construction: instead of having separate top, sides, and back like most ukuleles, the body of the AU series ukuleles starts as a solid block of wood and is milled, so that the back and sides are a single piece. A top is then added to complete the body. This construction method gives these instruments a unique sound and brilliant playability. They also utilize distinctive features such as a double sound port that creates a beautiful stereo effect, an elevated armrest, and a borderless comfort heel.
