The AEG50 features a new preamp, the Ibanez AEQ-TTS. This small and simple preamp has only 2 controls: volume and shape. This intuitive control allows for a natural acoustic sound in the central position. It also allows for easy sound adjustment, ranging from lower and fuller tones to higher and brighter ones with the action of a single control. A new and intuitive LCD tuner is built into the preamp itself.

The AEG50 has a very understated rosette, binding, and headstock ornamentation. These fine details add a sleek and stylish touch to the guitar.
