Description

Primacoustic Halo is a circular ceiling sound-absorbing panel ideal for treating any room, in a Paintable finish. Each panel measures 91.4 x 91.4 cm and is 38mm thick. In this version, the panels feature a 90° edge.

All mounting accessories are included with Primacoustic Halo.

All ceiling panels are made with 38mm thick, 96 kg/m³ high-density glass wool for exceptionally even absorption. The glass wool is enclosed within a protective micro-mesh, and the edges are resin-coated to retain as much of the (non-toxic) glass fiber leakage as possible. The acoustic panel is then covered with an acoustically transparent fabric or coated with the Absolute White paintable finish.

As with all Primacoustic panels, the Clouds are laboratory tested for acoustic performance and fire safety, achieving the most stringent Class A/1 rating in North America and Class B in Europe, making them safe for use in all types of installations.

Halo panels can be suspended horizontally from the ceiling in spaces like restaurants, atriums, gymnasiums, or any other space where discrete acoustic treatment is desired. Installation is easy. Each kit includes two high-density glass wool panels plus all necessary hardware to suspend them horizontally from the ceiling. Panels can also be wall-mounted using Surface Impaler brackets or installed as vertically suspended baffles using Corkscrew™ anchors (sold separately).

How Halo panels work

Primacoustic Halo absorbs sound energy produced by speakers, converting it into heat. Sound energy traveling through air pressure variations penetrates the panel, causing the tiny glass fibers to vibrate, which generates heat. This thermodynamic energy transfer effectively absorbs direct sound energy and prevents it from reflecting back to the mix position (sweet spot).

By itself, the 38mm thick glass wool panel is 100% effective for frequencies between 400Hz and 20kHz. To improve the evening and control an even broader frequency spectrum, Primacoustic Halo can be angled to vary the air gap between the Nimbus and the ceiling. This allows the support surface to also absorb any ceiling reflections.

Surface and Corner Impalers mounting system

The Primacoustic Impaler system is used to provide the user or installer with a simple, quick, and effective method for mounting fiberglass ceiling acoustic panels also on walls, without causing serious damage to the surface.

The galvanized steel impaler features a series of sharp, protruding darts that penetrate the panel to secure it in place during installation. To ensure that the panels do not shift after installation, it is recommended to apply a small amount of glue to the tips of the impaler during the mounting process; this adds an extra layer of security and reduces the opportunity for tampering. Impaler brackets attach to the surface using typical wall plugs and screws for concrete or drywall. A set of drywall anchors with corresponding screws is included.

What does Paintable mean?

If you ask anyone in the industry what the most common problem for customers is, they will surely tell you it has to do with color choice. Primacoustic Paintable panels were created as a neutral solution that allows the end user to decide the color after the panels have been delivered. This eliminates uncertainty about color choice and opens the door to creative use of textures and finishes.

Primacoustic Paintable panels are an innovative range of acoustic panels finished in Absolute White that can be repainted in any color you prefer! The project starts with the same 96 kg/m3 high-density glass wool core used in the Broadway series panels. Instead of wrapping the panel in colored fabric, the front and edges of the Paintable panels have a breathable latex finish that allows them to be spray painted or printed without affecting acoustic performance. The unique coated surface of Paintable panels can be printed at any print shop. Using a UV flatbed printer that accepts a minimum thickness of 5cm, custom graphics, photos, logos, or an image of your choice can be applied to the front of the panel. This high-resolution printing applies a thin coating in vibrant colors without compromising the acoustic performance of the panel. Complete customization of your acoustic treatment is now possible!

Primacoustic Halo Paintable documentation and certifications

All Primacoustic panels are laboratory tested for acoustic performance and fire safety. Class A/1 fire-rated, they meet the strict ASTM-E84 and Can-UL S102 requirements for flame spread and smoke development. This makes Broadway panels safe for use in commercial, governmental, and institutional installations.

Are Primacoustic Acoustic Clouds safe to handle? I've heard that fiberglass can cause irritation.

Indeed, that's true! This is why all Primacoustic acoustic panels are fully encapsulated and have resin-hardened edges. This completely retains the glass fibers. When you cut the panels, fibers may be released. If you choose to do so, it is recommended to wear gloves, goggles, and a mask during handling.

Are the Absolute White painted panels flame retardant?

Absolutely, yes.

What is the difference between the Halo and the Stratus panels?

They are very similar. The Stratus features a special aluminum frame that allows you to join several together to create a particularly large cloud. This type of mounting is mainly used in a recording studio. The Halo is a general-purpose acoustic panel, so it is not application-specific.

Can I use a Primacoustic Halo panel as a suspended baffle?

Of course, just use the CorkScrew support to suspend the panel, and also use the SlipNot assembled cables for quick height adjustment.

Can I use Primacoustic Halo panels as wall panels?

Yes. Just add Surface Impalers for mounting.

Can I glue the cloud panels to the wall for a permanent installation?

Yes. Just apply construction adhesive and use pressure impalers to hold it in place while the glue dries.

Can I drill a hole in a cloud panel to add a lamp?

Yes... but make sure it has an appropriate steel housing designed for use within a suspended ceiling with insulation. Ask your dealer for the best product suitable for this specific application.
