Guild Italy B-240e Fretless Natural Satin

Guild started building acoustic basses in the mid-1970s with the B-50, which featured a jumbo body, arched mahogany back, and a 30 3/4” (781 mm) scale for ease of use. Decades later, all this returns with our fretless B-240E, an easy-to-play instrument whose sound, in the best traditions of fretless basses, is defined and rich in harmonics. The instrument is built with a solid Sitka spruce top over an arched mahogany back and mahogany sides. The fretless B-240E features a pau ferro fingerboard and bridge with 5mm dots and fret position markers for precise reference during performances. The mahogany neck has a slim C profile with a 781 mm scale length, the nut is 1 5/8” (41 mm) bone, as is the saddle. The pickguard is tortoise celluloid, and the rosette is mother-of-pearl. Available in a satin natural polyurethane finish. The B-240E will excel in acoustic jams, thanks also to the Fishman Bass Sonitone onboard amplification system.
