The ACS series blends classical guitar concepts with elements typical of solid-body guitars. The incredibly comfortable mahogany neck is used here with a silver leaf maple body and a solid cedar top. The woods used, along with the particular shape of the two tone chambers, mean that the sound response is closer to a solid-body instrument than to a traditional acoustic guitar. These characteristics result in an instrument that is virtually feedback-free, making it extremely easy to use even in live stage situations. The core of the instrument, in both the ACS-SA and ACS-SA Slim versions, is represented by individual transducers for each string managed by a custom preamp system. This system not only produces an amplified sound but also provides a hexaphonic output via a 13-pin connector that allows direct access to Roland GR™ Synths and many other 13-Pin Devices.
