In 1961, the Les Paul Standard received a complete overhaul from Gibson, giving birth to the SG with its radical and innovative design for the era, destined to become a guitar legend. The Gibson Original Collection SG Standard '61 Maestro Vibrola reproduces the unmistakable style and class of that historic guitar. It features a "period-correct" mahogany body, a slim taper mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard, vintage tuners, a historic Maestro Vibrola bridge for a pleasant vibrato effect with the classic Lyre engraving, and Burstbucker 61R and 61T pickups faithful to the classic PAFs of the time.

The Gibson Original Collection marks the return of Gibson's Golden Era. To celebrate its iconic past, Gibson reintroduces the classic guitars that shaped the sound of generations of musicians who made history.
