GIBSON LES PAUL CLASSIC TRANSLUCENT CHERRY

The Les Paul Classic model sits in the Gibson catalog as a classic 60s Les Paul, with all the tonal characteristics of the classic Les Pauls of the golden decade, but with a playability that already looks towards more modern times.

Specifically, the body is mahogany, with the classic 9-hole weight relief, and is paired with a maple top. The neck, with a 60's Slim Taper profile, is also mahogany, and is paired with a rosewood fretboard, with "rolled" edges for unparalleled comfort.

The pickups are a pair of warm Burstbucker '61 Zebra, characterized by a tone that is halfway between 50s PAFs and the brighter Burstbucker Pro Alnico V, while the electronics have a modern configuration, with two volumes (push/pull) for coil tap, two tones (push/pull) to put the two pickups out of phase and pure bypass, and a three-position selector.

Also noteworthy are the vintage ABR-1 bridge and Grover tuners which contribute significantly to stable tuning.
