Description

Genelec 8030B is a 2-way bi-amplified nearfield monitoring system with new Class D amplifiers, ideal for project and home studios, as well as workstations and surround systems. The ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) function reduces the system's power consumption to less than 0.5 watts by automatically putting the monitor into standby when no signal is detected on the inputs for a certain period of time. As soon as an audio input signal is detected, the system is instantly reactivated. This ISS function complies with new EU regulations and the ErP Directive 2013, which regulates the power consumption of electronic equipment. The 8030C model features Iso-Pod™ (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler™), a stand that eliminates any sound coloration by decoupling the monitor from the surface it is placed on. Iso-Pod™ also allows the monitor to be angled to perfectly aim it on-axis towards the listener, both vertically and horizontally. If greater sound pressure and a more extended low-frequency response are needed, the natural complement to the 8030B is the 7050B subwoofer for stereo systems, or the 7060B for surround listening systems. Common to all monitors in the 8000 series are the exclusive DCW™ (Directivity Control Waveguide™) technology, which ensures extremely accurate stereo imaging and frequency balance even in suboptimal listening situations, the unique design of the reflex port integrated into the die-cast aluminum cabinet, with a semi-matte finish and acoustically optimized speaker protection grilles. The combination of the waveguide control, Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide™ (DCW™), rounded corners, and the subtle curvature of both the front and the cabinet, MDE™ (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure™), results in a surprisingly flat frequency response both on and off-axis. Another great advantage is extremely precise and detailed imaging and minimal listening fatigue. A sophisticated crossover filter system processes the signal sent to the amplifiers: each very low distortion loudspeaker has a dedicated one. The 8030B comes standard with magnetic shielding, overload protection circuitry, and a versatile environmental correction system. The holes on the back allow for proper and secure wall mounting.
