The scarcity of left-handed Stratocaster models in the late 1960s forced Jimi to flip a right-handed model and reverse the strings so he could play it. The result of this process is the "reverse" headstock and a unique look. These special characteristics have been incorporated into the new Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster, which is now available to the masses of "right-handers". As Jimi himself recalled, "Jimi is Fender and Fender is Jimi." Jimi is indelibly linked to the image of the Fender Stratocaster. Practically every significant recording and performance in his career was played on a Strat. He abused them, broke them, burned them, but he never denied his deep devotion to this instrument.
