New for 2024, the Fender Custom Shop introduces the 1961 Heavy Relic® Jazz Bass®. More than six decades after its release, this bass is packed with details and vibes that take players back to the early 1960s.

The elegant two-piece selected alder body features a Heavy Relic® lacquer finish in Three-Color Sunburst, Super Faded Aged Shell Pink and Faded Aged Daphne Blue. This expertly aged treatment is designed to evoke decades of demanding performances and tours: from the most obvious dents to the faded hardware, these Heavy Relic® basses look like genuine battle-tested workhorses.

The quartersawn maple neck features a '60s-style "U" back profile, a flat laminated rosewood fingerboard, and a matching painted headstock (Shell Pink and Daphne Blue only) for an iconic look and feel from the golden age.

Other premium features include a 7.25" radius, 20 medium vintage frets (47095), Custom Shop hand-wound vintage Jazz Bass® pickups, vintage wiring with concentric volume and tone controls, 4-ply brown pickguard, vintage-style 4-saddle bridge with threaded steel saddles, vintage-style tuners, bone nut, disc string tree, deluxe hardshell case, strap, and certificate of authenticity.
