FENDER CUSTOM DELUXE REVERB 68


1968 was a transitional year for Fender amplifiers, with a tone still typically Fender, but an entirely new design. With a silver and turquoise front panel and an elegant grill cloth finish known as “drip edge” (due to the aluminum trim between the panel and the front grill), the Deluxe Reverb underwent a complete design overhaul, yet remained the ideal amplifier for recording and gigs. Small, lightweight, and medium-powered, it produced an energetic tube tone, with unparalleled Fender reverb and vibrato effects. Since then, the Deluxe Reverb has been the benchmark amplifier for classic Fender sound, adopted by many guitarists.

The '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb amplifier is a tribute to the classic design, sound, and performance of Fender silver panel amplifiers from the late '60s. With a special modification, both channels feature reverb and tremolo, and the "custom" channel has a modified Bassman® tone control circuit that gives modern players greater tonal flexibility with pedals. The amplifier also features a faster gain attack and reduced negative feedback for greater touch sensitivity. The '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb's 12” Celestion® G12V-70 speaker also gives it a more distinctly rock 'n' roll edge.
