The Fender® American Vintage II series presents a particularly accurate re-creation of the revolutionary designs that changed the course of music history.

Made with historically correct bodies, necks, and hardware, high-class finishes and with the utmost attention to sound, featuring year-specific pickups, each instrument captures the essence of the most authentic Fender craftsmanship and tones.

During the late '50s and early '60s, the popularity of Fender musical instruments grew continuously, and although the Fender assortment had expanded to include many new outstanding instruments, the Stratocaster® reigned supreme.

By 1961, the Stratocaster stood out with a more refined aesthetic, featuring a re-formulated 3-Color Sunburst, with a brighter red and a more intense black edge, complemented by the 3-ply pickguard that accentuates its unmistakable curves.

With a premium alder body, a trio of Pure Vintage 1961 Stratocaster pickups, and a Medium “C” maple neck paired with a slab rosewood fretboard with a 7.25” radius, the American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster fully reproduces the sound and feel of the original.

Other features include a historically correct "synchronized tremolo" with cold-rolled steel blocks, bent steel saddles, in-line "Fender Deluxe" tuners, and a 3-ply pickguard.
