The Fender® American Vintage II series presents a particularly accurate reinterpretation of the revolutionary designs that changed the course of music history. Crafted with historically correct bodies, necks and hardware, high-class finishes and with the utmost attention to sound, with year-specific pickups, each instrument captures the essence of the most authentic Fender craftsmanship and tones.

During the late '50s and early '60s, the popularity of Fender musical instruments grew continuously, and although the Fender assortment expanded to include many new exceptional instruments, the Stratocaster® reigned supreme. By 1961, the Stratocaster stood out with a more refined aesthetic, featuring a reformulated 3-Color Sunburst with a more vibrant red and a more intense black edge, complemented by a 3-ply pickguard that accentuated its unmistakable curves.

With a premium alder body, a trio of Pure Vintage 1961 Stratocaster pickups, and a maple neck with a Medium "C" profile paired with a slab (flat-bottomed) rosewood fretboard with a 7.25" radius, the American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster fully reproduces the sound and feel of the original. Other features include a historically correct "synchronized tremolo" with cold-rolled steel block, bent steel saddles, "Fender Deluxe" in-line tuners, and a 3-ply pickguard.
