The Fender American Vintage II series presents a particularly accurate reinterpretation of the revolutionary designs that changed the course of music history. Crafted with historically correct bodies, necks, and hardware, high-class finishes, and paying utmost attention to sonics, with year-specific pickups, each instrument captures the essence of the most authentic Fender craftsmanship and tones.

The Precision Bass, the world's first electric bass, represents one of the most important developments in music history. For the first time, bassists had a portable, precisely intonated, and amplified instrument. As the legendary Quincy Jones stated, the Fender bass was “…the true technological revolution that changed music forever”.

While it initially drew many design cues from the Telecaster, such as the oversized Tele headstock, flat bottom, and chrome control plate, by 1954, the P-Bass was updated with the same elegant curves and contoured edges as the newly launched Stratocaster. The American Vintage II 1954 Precision Bass reproduces in every way the sound and response that characterize the original, and is offered in two colors on an ash body: Vintage Blonde and 2-Color Sunburst, paired with a single-ply white pickguard.

Other key features include a solid maple neck with a ‘54 “C” profile and a 7.25” radius fingerboard, and vintage-height frets. The Pure Vintage 2-saddle bridge with fiber saddles, reverse open-gear tuners, finger rest, and '54 Single-Coil Precision Bass pickup recreate the classic powerful sound and Fender style.
