A period of great change for both Fender and pop culture in general, the 60s saw a slight softening of the Strat along with its growth. The white pickguard was updated to mint green, while the fretboard changed from the original maple to rosewood, a wood capable of adding a more harmonious note to the clear and articulate sound of the Strat. The American Original '60s Stratocaster keeps these finishes intact, adding a modern feel and pickup selection to this iconic instrument that helped give birth to rock guitar.
