Half acoustic guitar, half solid body, the Telecaster Acoustasonic was among the instruments that most ignited the curiosity of Fender fans at the dawn of 2019.

More than just a simple thinline designed to imitate the tonalities of a steel-string, the Acoustasonic packs an unprecedented instrument that only hints at the acoustic world to invent a modern and flexible sound texture in a format suitable for guitarists accustomed to solid bodies.

Acoustasonic is the name of Fender's amplifier series designed to bring traditional flat-tops to any stage. The guitar that re-proposes its name aims to put into the hands of the guitarist the typical sounds of a Telecaster spiced up with an entire range of timbres from the acoustic world. To this end, the Corona lutherie opts for warm and soft-voiced woods, completing everything with specially designed electronics.

The body of the Telecaster Acoustasonic is made of mahogany, with a Sitka spruce top and a beveled edge to best accommodate the musician's forearm. The neck is mahogany, bolted on and with a beveled heel for modern playability, while the fretboard is made of tigerstripe ebony whose grain stands out sharply along its entire length.

The soundhole is the heart of the Stringed Instrument Resonance System, a patent-pending technology aimed at optimizing the resonance of the body, inside which a Transverse bracing is hidden.

The amplified sound is provided by a three-pickup system consisting of a Fishman piezo positioned under the bridge, a Fishman Acoustasonic Enhancer circuit, and an Acoustasonic Noiseless magnetic pickup positioned near the bridge. Designed to react similarly to a mic'd acoustic guitar, it amplifies all internal sounds of the body, including percussive taps and noises that might be required in modern percussive acoustic guitar techniques.

Under the top, the Acoustic Engine circuit offers five positions on the selector to bring the guitar's response closer to as many traditional acoustic instruments reinterpreted to perform best on stage, connected to typical amplification and immersed in a mix of instruments, even a crowded one. A blend potentiometer allows for gradual introduction of the magnetic pickup into the mix, while a single master volume controls the total output.
