FBT Vertus CLA 406.2A 2-way active column line array, the growing demand for an easy-to-install and sonically superior portable sound reinforcement system has prompted FBT to introduce a new version of the renowned VERTUS CLA460A active column array. With the same impeccable audio performance as the original but with new features designed to help mobile users, the new VERTUS CLA 406.2A and VERTUS CLA 206A active columns will receive their official launch at Frankfurt Pro Light + Sound 2018. The launch of the new VERTUS columns follows a strong increase in the use of VERTUS CLA406A for mobile sound reinforcement applications and installations, a trend stimulated by the column's depth of versatility and audio performance. To make life easier for those on the go, both the CLA406.2A and the more compact CLA206A have been designed with portability in mind, from robust hardware to new accessories that make installation extremely quick and highly intuitive. This product also excels in fixed installation, where the column array's dispersion characteristics and sonic performance are essential. The extended range of accessories includes a flying bar for easy suspension of the system (users simply add a clamp for tubular coupling), plus a foldable floor stand offering a choice of angles from 0 to 10 degrees and a bracket for coupling two enclosures at angles from 0 to 20 degrees (in 5-degree increments). The accessories connect to the enclosures using M10 screws supplied for fixed installation or via quick-release pins (optional) for mobile use. In terms of hardware, the enclosures now offer four side inserts that can accept both quick-release pins and M10 screws, while rear M6 suspension points have been added for increased installation flexibility. The active CLA406.2A is a 600W + 300W Class D system providing a maximum SPL of 133dB thanks to four custom 6.5-inch woofers and a 1.4-inch B&C HF compression driver with a 2.5-inch voice coil. The onboard DSP offers a choice of eight presets while the enclosure's large format waveguide provides a dispersion of 100 degrees (H) x 25 degrees (V). The CLA206A, meanwhile, incorporates the same waveguide but with only two 6.5-inch woofers. The compact column can be used standalone or clustered, or as an ideal complement to the CLA406.2A, forming an overall system with greater mid-high dispersion and consistent sound pressure uniformity in the listening area.
