EWI5000 is the flagship product of Akai Professional's EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument) series, in which innovative design is combined with unique features such as wireless stereo connectivity and an integrated sound library based on a 3GB wavetable produced by SONiVOX, to create the most powerful and versatile digital wind instrument ever.

The ultra-low latency wireless connectivity (2.4GHz) will allow AKAI PRO EWI5000 users to perform freely on stage or in the studio. EWI5000 is still equipped for connection via traditional audio and MIDI connectors. Naturally, given the wireless connectivity, a rechargeable lithium battery with approximately 6 hours of use could not be missing. Akai Professional EWI5000 is equipped with stereo audio outputs on ¼” TRS Jack connectors and 1/8” headphone jack. USB cable and power adapter are supplied and useful for recharging the integrated lithium battery.

For precise control of volume and intonation dynamics, the Akai Pro EWI5000 uses an ultra-sensitive mouthpiece with pressure and embouchure sensors. In addition, there are 8 controls for managing parameters such as filter, reverb, chorus, LFO, breath and embouchure intensity, pitch in semitone and fine steps.

Akai Pro EWI5000 is an extremely powerful and flexible instrument that expands the sonic possibilities of performances for those who usually use reed instruments. You can adapt the instrument to your usual playing style by selecting between different fingerings: flute, oboe, saxophone. An EVI (Electronic Valve Instrument) mode is also available for brass emulation. MIDI connectivity is available both via USB port for direct connection to the computer, and via traditional pentapolar DIN MIDI OUT connector to play practically any type of hardware and/or software expander, synthesizer or sampler.

EWI5000 features 3GB of high-quality internal sounds sampled and programmed by SONiVOX, to cover practically any sonic need and musical genre, from orchestral timbres (trumpets, brass, winds in general, strings) to less “traditional” evolving synth sounds, basses and leads. The Sound Editor Software for EWI5000 will allow you, once the EWI 500 is connected via USB, to manipulate the sounds on PC and Mac computers as you wish. You can save, load and export various settings.
