Description

The Chthonic Fuzz is an deceptively minimalist, vintage-inspired pedal with impressive versatility and a distinctive voice. The Chthonic Fuzz (pronounced "thah-nik" and meaning “of or relating to the underworld”) creates thick, heavy, murky fuzz tones, designed to blend seamlessly with single-coil, P90, gold-foil, and DeArmond pickups. It also works great with PAF-style humbuckers, but the Chthonic fuzz was designed with bright, clean guitars and amps in mind.

Based on a 1970s one-knob fuzz circuit, a subtle tone control (Lustre) was added, followed by a separate gain control (Fuzz). The result is a simple, yet powerful fuzz with a dark, earthy vibe. The pair of 2N2222 transistors allow you to clean up the sound by rolling back your guitar’s volume. The Chthonic Fuzz is designed to be first in your signal chain. This allows it to interface with your guitar’s pickups and volume control. The Kraken/Cthulhu artwork of the Chthonic is courtesy of the same artist who provided the artwork for the Carcosa Fuzz.

Fuzz control: This control adjusts the intensity of the fuzz.

Output control: This control adjusts the output level of the pedal.

Lustre control: This control cuts the high frequencies after the pedal’s main distortion stages.
