Dean Markley manufactures these strings with an original approach to composite winding. With the exception of strings smaller than .050, all other strings are made by building their mass with increasingly smaller gauge wires. Winding directions are reversed between layers to "hatch" the covers and make the string smoother. Another important factor is the "core to cover ratio," which varies from time to time, achieving the right mix for the best playability and durability. The perfect mix of mass, tension, and a host of other engineering marvels that result in massive sound and high-rev performance, plenty of sound, resonance, and sustain.
