Dean Markley makes these strings with an original approach to the composite winding. With the exception of strings smaller than 0.050, all other strings are made by building up their mass with progressively smaller gauge wires. The winding directions are reversed between layers to "crosshatch" the coverings and make the string smoother. Another important factor is the "core to cover ratio" which varies from time to time, obtaining the right mix for the best playability and durability. The perfect mix of mass, tension and a lot of other engineering marvels that result in a massive sound and high-performance, lots of tone, resonance and sustain.
