The DB01B Dimebag Cry Baby® From Hell Wah is Jim Dunlop's signature wah pedal for Dimebag Darrell. This pedal is Dunlop's most versatile wah, specially designed for musicians who need numerous options on stage, thanks to its six selectable frequency ranges, a selectable boost, status LEDs, and much more.

OVERVIEW

One of the most important elements of Dimebag Darrell's sound was undoubtedly the Cry Baby Wah. Thanks to his experience gained from years of touring, he collaborated with Dunlop to create the most versatile Cry Baby in the lineup: the Dimebag Cry Baby From Hell Wah. Work on this pedal began about 20 years ago when Dime, a long-time user of the Cry Baby 535Q, felt the need for more options on stage. Starting from the 535Q, the Q control, the 6-way frequency range selector, and an adjustable boost were re-proposed in this pedal. It was subsequently enhanced with a wide frequency range, a control to adjust the frequencies of the open wah sound, an additional output to split the signal into a separate effects chain, and LEDs that indicate the pedal's status and the boost's status. Finally, the rubber top was replaced with skateboard grip tape for better traction.

POWER

This pedal can be powered by a 9-volt battery or an AC adapter, such as the Dunlop ECB003, Iso-Brick, or Mini Iso-Brick (not included).

CONTROLS

Volume: adjusts the amount of gain provided by the Boost switch;
Variable Q: adjusts the shape of the bandpass;
Fine Tune knob: adjusts the sound of the open wah;
Boost: increases the output level by the amount set with the Volume knob;
Range Selector: selects one of the six frequency ranges.
