Cutting Edge is the VOX distortion pedal from the "Valvenergy" series that reproduces the typical high-gain sound essential for modern metal in a compact format equipped with a Nutube valve. It features Gain, Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble, Tight controls and, thanks to the 3 operating modes STANDARD, PREAMP, CAB-SIM, it allows the guitarist to connect the pedal both to an amp and directly to a mixer or audio interface, using it in any situation, from live performances to recording sessions, from streaming live shows to online lessons.

In addition to developing traditional tube amplifiers, VOX evolves by presenting the Valvenergy pedal line that uses the new generation Nutube valve, providing the response and harmonic distortion of some of the most popular tube amplifiers in three different modes: standard, preamp and CAB-SIM.

VOX VALVENERGY CUTTING EDGE OPERATING MODES

STANDARD: the pedal outputs an instrument signal. Connect it to the input of your guitar amplifier as you would with a conventional pedal.
PREAMP: the pedal outputs a line-level signal. Connect it to the amp's return or to the power amplifier's input.
CAB-SIM: the pedal outputs a FULL RANGE line-level signal with an analog cabinet simulator, therefore "full range". Ideal for connecting directly to a P.A., a DAW, or an active Full Range speaker, obtaining a "ready-to-use" sound that covers all frequencies, thus avoiding unnecessary signal passages and conversions.

The VALVENERGY series consists of all-analog circuits with a 9V power supply internally boosted to 15V. This allows for greater volume and headroom and offers an even more dynamic sound. It is possible to daisy-chain two pedals together with a standard 1/8" stereo cable through the CH-SW jack of each pedal. This allows you to activate one pedal while bypassing the other, using the system as if you were switching between channels on a guitar amplifier. Using a 1/8" stereo Y-cable, you can connect three pedals. VALVENERGY pedals feature a high-contrast OLED display that shows an oscilloscope, a visual indication of how the waveform is affected by the knob settings.

VOX VALVENERGY CUTTING EDGE CONTROLS

Gain: adjusts the amount of distortion.
Volume: sets the output volume.
Treble: adjusts the high frequency range. Turning the knob to the left produces a softer tone, while turning it to the right produces a bright and clear tone.
Middle: adjusts the mid-frequency range. Turning the knob to the right produces a rich mid-range.
Bass: adjusts the low-frequency range. Turning the knob to the left produces a thinner and lighter tone, while turning it to the right produces a warm and heavy sound.
Tight: adjusts the low-frequency range of the signal before it is distorted. Adjusting this knob changes the character of the distortion.
