OVERVIEW OF THE HIWATT FILTER FUZZ MKII

The Filter Fuzz MKII is a fuzz pedal that incorporates classic '60s sounds, created in collaboration with two important figures from the Hiwatt Custom Shop. This analog pedal has high gain and an extended frequency range, and features a series of controls that allow for precise tone shaping. The MASTER VOLUME control adjusts the output volume. Turning the FUZZ knob clockwise increases saturation and sustain. This control has been optimized to achieve a smooth linear response, starting gradually to allow the guitar or bass's volume and tone controls to work best, and ending with a full, saturated fuzz. The FILTER control manages the three low-cut filters, which can also be activated with the dedicated footswitch. These filters can be used to boost mids, add punch, or achieve a lo-fi sound. It interacts with the MASTER VOLUME and FUZZ controls, creating "spitting", "zippery", "gated" or "octave" responses. It also offers a boost that can be useful for pushing lead parts to the foreground. Finally, the THICK control optimizes the low-frequency response. Turning the knob clockwise emphasizes low frequencies, cutting them in the opposite direction. This control is positioned before the gain stage and adjusts the tone, allowing you to go from dark sounds to bright tones. The FUZZ footswitch activates and deactivates the effect, while the FILTER footswitch allows you to select the three integrated low-pass filters.
