The Custom 24-08 is PRS's Core series electric guitar that offers great versatility thanks to its 8 pickup configurations. In addition to the 3-way switch, this guitar features two Mini-Toggle Coil-Split switches that allow you to split the two TCI humbuckers. The other features, such as PRS's patented tremolo, PRS Phase III tuners with the new Wing keys, and the Mahogany body with a Maple top, make this guitar modern and versatile while staying true to the Custom 24 tradition. The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar, the iconic first guitar introduced in 1985. The Custom 24-08 retains all the essential features of the original Custom, such as the Maple top, Mahogany body and neck, 24-fret, 25" scale fretboard, patented PRS Gen III bridge, and two TCI humbuckers. Added to these specifications is a switching system that, thanks to the two Mini-Toggle Coil-Split switches, allows the pickups to be split, providing 8 different humbucker and single-coil sounds. This guitar offers the playability and reliability typical of PRS guitars, adding unique sonic versatility.

In 2024, PRS Guitars updated the tuners on many guitars in the core family. Aesthetically, the new Wing keys recall the design of the bird's outstretched wings at the 12th fret, and were designed back in 1982 for sound-related reasons. Being lighter than metal ones, they take less energy from the vibrating strings, making the guitar more resonant and increasing sustain.

The PRS Custom 24-08 features PRS TCI pickups and a 3-position selector, but thanks to the two Mini-Toggle Coil-Split switches, the two pickups can be split separately, yielding up to 8 different sound configurations.

With the mini-toggle switches deactivated, the 3-way switch allows you to play the bridge pickup, the two humbuckers together, or the neck pickup. By splitting the two humbuckers separately, you can use all combinations and experiment with sounds.
