Description

The CSP027 Timmy Overdrive is MXR's overdrive pedal that offers a wide range of gritty tones while preserving the natural voice of the instrument, all in a small case that fits even the most compact pedalboards. It features Volume, Bass, Treble, Gain controls and a Clip switch that sets the clipping mode.

OVERVIEW OF THE MXR CSP027 TIMMY OVERDRIVE

The Timmy Overdrive is based on a design by veteran Paul Cochrane, widely appreciated by professionals from Nashville musician Kenny Greenberg to Los Angeles musician Lyle Workman, to rockstar Brad Whitford. When Paul decided to bring his pedal to a wider audience, he chose to work with the MXR design team. "It's an honor to be able to work with MXR", says Paul. "My very first pedal was a Phase 90". Thanks to Paul's inventiveness in implementing clipping options and tone controls, the Timmy Overdrive is the perfect overdrive pedal for all guitarists. The Clip switch offers three different clipping styles, going from a big sound with plenty of headroom up to a more compressed and saturated overdrive. The Bass and Treble knobs cut frequencies without boosting them: this preserves the natural timbre of the instrument by adding a clean boost. Furthermore, the bass control is wired to influence the pre-overdrive signal, so you can maintain a lower gain on the lows, while the high control is set to act on the overdrive signal. All in a compact format that fits even the smallest pedalboards.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF THE MXR CSO027 TIMMY OVERDRIVE

Input Impedance: 400 kΩ
Output Impedance: 1 kΩ
Noise Floor: -115 dBV
Gain: 3 dBV to 43 dBV
Bypass: True Hardwire
Current Draw: 2.2 mA
Power Supply: 9 volt DC
