Description

Carnaby 500 is a 3-band parametric equalizer for the 500 series format, with a unique and revolutionary equalization concept, conceived and created by Cranborne Audio. Carnaby 500 is the world's first Harmonic EQ™, an analog equalizer that uses saturation to boost and cut harmonic content across various frequency bands. This allows you to enhance sources, stems, and mixes with authentic analog harmonic saturation, offering the feel, familiarity, and control of an equalizer.Carnaby 500 features 3 interactive Harmonic EQ™ bands, with each band offering 10dB of boost/cut and overlapping, adjustable frequency controls. Each band of the Carnaby 500 has a unique blend of harmonic content suited to its frequency band, allowing for maximum musicality. The HI band covers the range from 5kHz to 25kHz and uses homogeneous saturation to naturally extend high frequencies beyond the audio band, giving air and breath to vocals and acoustic instruments. The LO band operates in the range from 20Hz to 420Hz and uses hard-clipping saturation to extend sub-harmonic frequencies into the audible low-end range: perfect for a subtle low-end boost or extreme sub-harmonic saturation. The MID band is a peak filter with a fixed Q and a wide range of adjustable frequencies from 200 Hz to 6.2 kHz. It uses saturation to add harmonic emphasis to the source anywhere in the frequency range. Unlike other EQs, the Carnaby 500 has a very dynamic response and increases total boost/cut and harmonics as the circuits are saturated. An input and output level control on each band allows for ±20dB level adjustment, enabling you to drive Carnaby 500 harder with the input control for saturation and distortion effects, or reduce it for cleaner equalization when needed.The Carnaby 500 not only features a unique equalization circuit, but also an innovative stereo linking function called OPTOSYNC, which allows two Carnaby 500 units to function as a perfect stereo pair for mixes and stereo sources. With OPTOSYNC, all controls are synchronized from the left unit to the right without internal cables or wiring. If you set OPTOSYNC to ON for all slave units, their controls will synchronize with the master unit without additional cables.
