CR4M Electric Upright Bass is the 4-string electric double bass from the CR series by NS Design. With its versatility and sound quality, it is an indispensable instrument for many professionals, both on stage and in the studio. This slim-bodied solid-body double bass is made in the Czech Republic, carrying on a long history of refined instruments.

OVERVIEW

The CR4M has a body and neck made of selected Maple. The full-scale graduated fingerboard provides consistent response for every note, and the bridge is adjustable to suit any style. The Polar™ pickup system combines full sound with directional sensitivity, capable of optimal response for both bowing and plucking.

MAIN FEATURES OF THE CR4M ELECTRIC UPRIGHT BASS

Construction
The body and neck of the CR4M double bass are made of European Maple, with a flamed Maple top. The neck has the traditional double bass profile, but the body shape allows easy access to the higher frets. The solid-body design gives the instrument sustain and clarity, as well as being resistant to the effects of changes in temperature and humidity.

Fingerboard
The fingerboard is graduated, with an asymmetrical profile that ensures the absence of unwanted vibrations. The adjustable truss rod allows the instrument to be set up for any style. The cascading dots along the fingerboard provide accurate reference at every position.

Polar™ Bridge Pickup System
The Polar™ senses both lateral and vertical vibration. By setting the lateral mode, the pickup has optimized sensitivity for the vibration produced by the bow, while with the vertical mode, notes played with the fingers are clearer and richer in sustain. Placing the dedicated knob in the center provides a combination of the two modes.

EMG Magnetic PickupsThe CR4M is equipped with a low-impedance EMG pickup with individually adjustable coils and neodymium magnets. This pickup delivers a full, high-quality sound with very low noise.

Active EQ and Mixer
Controls include a volume knob, a knob to choose between Bow or Pizzicato mode, and individual controls for high and low frequencies. The included 18-volt power supply ensures a full sound rich in dynamics.

Adjustable Bridge
Two screws on the back of the body allow the bridge to be moved up or down. This allows the instrument to be set up according to different stylistic needs.

Gig Bag
The CR4M comes with a padded soft case, equipped with a pocket for the tripod, a compartment for the bow and one for accessories.

CONTROLS

Volume: adjusts the overall volume;
Balance: blends the sound of the magnetic pickup (counter-clockwise) and the piezo (clockwise); place it in the center to use both;
Balance: selects Bow mode (clockwise) or Pizzicato mode (counter-clockwise);
Treble: adjusts high frequencies;
Bass: adjusts low frequencies.
