The Custom Muff is a pedal based on the classic Big Muff, but with specially designed variations to make the sound rich in mid-range frequencies and not boomy in the low frequencies.

The Custom Muff represents a reinterpretation of a classic that allows you to stand out in any band and in any condition. It is a true powerhouse of rock sound, easily paired with guitars equipped with humbucker or single coil pickups. It has very high gain levels and excellent definition. Used solo, the Custom Muff produces a very rich and present sound, while playing chords or power chords, it is capable of creating real walls of sound.

Connecting it to a tube amplifier, or even a good solid-state amplifier, will provide an unforgettable experience. Despite the remarkable gain levels it can achieve, the pedal maintains excellent quietness thanks to the careful selection of components, especially transistors, and the many improvements made to the circuit.

The tone control is designed with a balance circuit that always allows for the most suitable adjustment in any situation, while the clipping circuit is built with silicon diodes.

The CostaLab Custom Muff is equipped with a mechanical "true bypass" switching system and has an anti-pop system.

Power is 9 volts DC and connects via the classic 2.1 mm DC connector with a center negative. Current consumption is less than 20 mA. The unit can also operate with a 9-volt battery. In this case, the circuit is activated by inserting the input jack.

To prolong battery life, it is advisable to remove the input jack from the socket when not in use. It is still possible to keep the battery inside the pedal even when it is powered via the DC socket, because the external power system is able to automatically exclude it.

The pedal measures 118x60x34mm excluding knobs and jacks.
