The entire production process of KORG C1 Air-BR, from keyboard manufacturing to final assembly, takes place in Japan, specifically in Miyama-cho, Nantan-shi, in the Nantan region, in the center of Kyoto Prefecture, one of Japan's most famous areas for tourism and historical monuments.

The C1 Air-BR Keyboard

KORG C1 Air-BR uses the weighted Hammer Action 3 (RH3) keyboard, which accurately reproduces the mechanical action of a grand piano, including the characteristic variation in touch caused by the weight of the hammers: heavier in the lower register of the instrument and progressively lighter towards the higher register. RH3 is also a highly responsive keyboard for repeated notes, and allows for extremely precise dynamic control, thanks also to five sensitivity levels: light, normal, heavy, stable, fixed. This allows the instrument's response to be adapted to each pianist's playing technique.

The Design

The design philosophy adopted in the creation of C1 Air-BR pays homage to the traditional acoustic piano while seeking to distinguish itself from similar products. Its modern design incorporates distinctive elements such as the two slightly curved legs that elegantly highlight its profile, and the slim profile with only 26 cm (10.24) depth, making it easily placeable in any environment. The keyboard is protected by a specially designed soft-closing lid, which also serves as a music stand when open.

The Sound of C1 Air-BR

The sound of a piano changes significantly based on how it is played. To achieve this level of expressive power on a digital instrument, two concert grand pianos were carefully selected by professional pianists, appropriately regulated and tuned by experienced technicians, and sampled by KORG engineers. This complex process allows the user of C1 Air-BR to simulate the experience of playing a great German or Japanese grand piano, instruments carefully chosen based on their ability to reproduce a wide spectrum of frequencies, to practice all main musical genres: from the most refined and intense nuances of classical music to the bright and powerful sound needed for Jazz and Pop. Both acoustic piano sounds: German Grand Piano and Japanese Grand Piano, feature Damper resonance, the characteristic effect produced by the sympathetic resonance of piano strings when the Damper pedal is pressed.

The Key-Off accurately reproduces the characteristic sound of keys being released on an acoustic instrument. The combination of Damper Resonance and Key Off elevates the realism of KORG C1 Air-BR to a higher level.

The 30 Timbres of C1 Air-BR

The German Grand piano is characterized by a rich and powerful overall character, with deep bass and brilliant highs. The Japanese Grand Piano has a dynamic and tonally versatile sound, allowing it to perform optimally across many musical genres, from classical to Jazz and Pop. In addition to acoustic pianos, the C1 Air-BR offers electric piano sounds, organs, Clav, vibraphones, acoustic guitars, strings, and much more, totaling 30 highly expressive sounds. Three high-quality effects are also available: brilliance, reverb, and chorus, already optimally adjusted for each sound, so you can simply select a timbre and start playing immediately, without thinking about anything else.

Supports Bluetooth Audio

On C1 Air-BR, it is possible to connect a Bluetooth device, such as a Smartphone, allowing you to play the piano along with music stored on the device itself. Additionally, when not being used as a musical instrument, the C1 Air-BR can become an efficient Bluetooth listening system.

The C1 Air-BR Song Recorder

C1 Air-BR features a 2-track digital recorder to instantly store every performance. This allows for analysis to track study progress, or simply for archiving. It is possible to record each hand independently, or record an additional track on an already recorded song. Playback speed can be adjusted later, and up to 99 different songs can be saved in the internal memory.

Ease of Use

All main functions of the C1 Air-BR are easily accessible from the front panel. By simply pressing a key, you can assign a bass sound to the lower part of the keyboard, allowing for jazz-style performances by playing piano with the right hand and bass with the left. Alternatively, by pressing two keys simultaneously, you can layer two timbres, such as piano and strings, for orchestral-type performances. The instrument also features the Partner function, which divides the keyboard into two identical left and right sections, each with its own pedal. This is an excellent method for practicing with your teacher.

40 Songs Useful for Study

In addition to ten demo songs illustrating the possibilities of various sounds, the C1 Air-BR also includes 40 highly educational piano pieces. Their tempo can be adjusted, right and left hand playback can be controlled, and the A-B Repeat function is available for practicing more complex sections.
