Thanks to the compact and versatile IR-2 in your setup, you're always ready to recreate your unmistakable sound by connecting directly to the house PA or a recording setup. Choose from 11 top-class amp types, paired with Celestion Digital IRs, and instantly change your sound with simple controls. Use the mono/stereo loop for post-amp effects, and connect headphones for monitoring and silent practice. And with the integrated USB-C, you can easily interface with music software and upload your favorite cabinet IRs.

The IR-2 contains the sounds of classic tube amps and miked speaker cabinets in a standard compact pedal, giving you easy access to studio-quality tones on stages, fly dates, recording sessions, and practice times. Backed by decades of BOSS expertise, each selection delivers the same expressive nuances and dynamic touch response as a real amp and cabinet. The audio quality is also excellent, thanks to advanced DSP, 32-bit floating-point processing, and a 96 kHz sampling rate.

Eleven solid platforms create every type of guitar amp, from famous tube combos to vintage and modern stacks. There are also several original BOSS amps, including a high-gain Brown type derived from the Katana series. The amps are all paired with Celestion Digital IRs, providing complete tones in every aspect right away. If you prefer to use cab IRs from your own collection, you can upload them to the pedal via USB-C and a dedicated app.

Thanks to the IR-2's intuitive interface, you'll be ready to play in seconds. Simply select the amp type and modify the sound with the familiar amp-style controls. Then, use the Ambience knob to achieve natural spaciousness and depth if desired. You can connect your other pedals to the IR-2's input, just as you would with an amplifier. If you want to go further, use the send/return loop to connect modulation, delay, and reverb effects into the chain, after the amp sound. The TRS return jack supports stereo operation, allowing you to route stereo effects to the IR-2's audio outputs.

Adding the IR-2 to your pedalboard greatly expands its versatility, giving you a complete guitar sound wherever you perform.

Connect headphones for high-quality guitar tones, while practicing, playing at home, or on the go. And prepare for upcoming performances with the same pedalboard setup you use on stage. Audio playback from a computer or mobile device is supported via USB-C, allowing you to play along to songs in your music library and follow lessons on YouTube or other sources.

Take your sound off the stage too, performing with well-defined sounds anywhere. Sending a feed from the IR-2's outputs to the house PA provides a studio-quality signal that is not affected by the performance environment. And if you need more than one amp sound while performing, you can switch between two amp/cab setups in the IR-2 with the footswitch or an external footswitch.

Via the IR-2's USB-C connector, send the sound of your complete setup directly to your recording music software. Add tracks to complete productions in a DAW on your computer. Or connect your smartphone and record your inspirations while traveling. You can monitor audio from the IR-2 and your software via headphones, eliminating the need for a separate audio interface.
