The GK-5 Divided Pickup is a special guitar pickup designed for the GM-800 and other BOSS guitar synthesizers. Unlike standard guitar pickups, which send the signals from all strings to a single output, the GK-5 detects each string individually, transmitting their signals to separate outputs within the Serial GK system. The isolated information from each string allows compatible BOSS products to perform all sorts of advanced processing, a capability not possible with standard pickups.
