New HT MK III Tube Amps: Inspiring practice and live performance

The award-winning HT range is one of Blackstar’s foundational tube amp series. It focuses on providing guitarists with classic tube tones in a compact package, which has made it a staple in the homes and studios of professional and casual musicians alike. Blackstar’s R&D team has brought decades of experience to bear in creating the new HT MK III series.

The HT-1R MK III, HT-5R MK III and HT-20R MK III amps retain all the renowned features of the HT MkII series, with the addition of CabRig, the world’s most advanced IR-based DSP speaker simulator. CabRig allows guitarists access to hundreds of cabinet and mic configurations with room settings. These settings can be saved and stored in 3 presets which can be recalled directly from the amp for an incredible selection of tonal options when playing live or recording.

In addition to these cutting-edge new features, the new HT MK III series also comes with a stunning new look, with a premium boutique amp style. The new panel has a clean, crisp, no-nonsense look, combined with classic ‘chicken head’ knobs. High quality switches have been introduced, the LED colours have been updated, and a metal logo has been added. Without a doubt, the HT MK
III look as good as they sound.

Here’s what to expect from the new HT MK III:

- Blackstar’s patented ISF (Infinite Shape) system. Unique to Blackstar products, this control allows you to go from an ‘American’ sounding amp to a classic ‘British’ sounding amp.
- Power reduction: The HT-5R includes a switchable circuit in the HT-5R MK III and HT-20R MK III models which provides transparent and dependable attenuation, down to 10% of the amp's rated power.
- CabRig: Our IR-based simulation DSP software. Choose from hundreds of mic and screen combinations via free software, and store up to 3 CabRig presets directly to the amp.
- Professional USB recording output: now USB-C, it’s the easiest way to get valve tone into your recordings.
- The innovative Clean Channel offers the ultimate in clean tone quality and flexibility. The Clean Channel features a voice switch: American Clean, British Clean.
- The rich and responsive Overdrive Channel features a voice switch: Classic Overdrive, Modern Overdrive, with high gain voices.
- All models feature four footswitchable voices with the optional two-way FS-22 and FS-16 foot pedals. The result is a wide selection of accessible valve tones.
- Line input for jamming along or listening to music.
- Line out for silent practice or recording.
- HT’ stands for High Tension, the internal high-voltage circuitry needed to drive the valves at peak performance.
