The two 7mil clear plies are glued and sealed only at the edges and tame unwanted overtones focusing on low frequencies.These heads are designed for loose tuning and provide that low, fat, and punchy tom-tom sound that was an important part of classic rock and roll records. The frequency control that adds focused power is built right into this head.
