The Focal Alpha EVO 65 studio monitors for Mixing, Mastering, DJ, and Broadcast applications offer a frequency response from 40Hz to 22kHz, are amplified with 55W for the lows and 25W for the highs for a maximum SPL of 104dB, and feature a 6.5” (16.5cm) Slatefiber woofer and a 1” (2.5cm) inverted dome aluminum tweeter as transducers.

In the Alpha EVO (EVO stands for Evolution) active studio monitors, Focal has revamped the design, introduced new technologies, and increased versatility, thanks to a 1/4” TRS jack input, which complements the XLR and RCA connections, the cone built with Slatefiber technology produced exclusively by the French company in its Saint-Étienne factory, and the 1” inverted dome aluminum tweeter.

The Alpha EVO series from Focal Professional offers high performance at a price point in line with the needs of home and project studios, musicians, and DJ producers. This is another important step the French company is taking, building on its long experience dedicated to the research and development of efficient and innovative listening solutions that have positioned it among the leaders in various areas of the audio industry.

Alpha EVO: versatility and performance

Designed for music production and listening, the Focal Alpha EVO active monitors ensure excellent sound coherence for your workstation. To optimize performance, Focal chose a 1” inverted dome aluminum tweeter, to ensure excellent and wide diffusion of high frequencies within the listening position, and a special Slatefiber cone. This mid-bass woofer is produced exclusively by Focal in its Saint-Étienne factory and stands out because it is made from recycled carbon fiber blended with thermoplastic polymer. The compound gives the cone a distinctive and pleasing bluish color. The combination of these two materials results in remarkable acoustic performance in terms of transduction speed, rigidity, and damping, which provide excellent dynamic reproduction and a more natural balance across the spectrum. Focal was the first company in the world in the audio field to use recycled carbon fiber in transducers.

The cabinet of the Focal Alpha EVO 65 active studio monitors is made of 15mm thick MDF reinforced by an internal structure that makes them extremely robust, minimizing acoustic susceptibility even at high sound pressure levels. The dimensions of this model are 339x261x289mm and the weight of each speaker is 7.6KG. The bass-reflex uses a wide front opening for laminar airflow aimed at containing turbulence and distortion in the reproduced signal. This results in excellent integration into any listening setup, whether at home, in a van, or in a treated environment. The attention Focal usually pays to design has led to the addition of attractive side panels made of plastic that perfectly match both the concept of acoustic performance and the aesthetic goal.
