The Focal Alpha EVO 50 studio monitors for Mix, Mastering, DJ, and Broadcast offer a frequency response from 45Hz to 22kHz, are amplified with 30W on the lows and 20W on the highs for a maximum SPL of 101dB, and feature a 5” Slatefiber woofer and a 1” (2.5cm) inverted dome aluminum tweeter as transducers.

In the Alpha EVO (EVO stands for Evolution) amplified studio monitors, Focal has renewed the design, introduced new technologies, and increased versatility, thanks to a 1/4” TRS jack input, which complements the XLR and RCA connections, the cone built with Slatefiber technology exclusively produced by the French company in its Saint-Étienne factory, and the 1" inverted dome aluminum tweeter.

Alpha EVO: versatility and performance

Designed for music production and listening, the Focal Alpha EVO amplified monitors ensure excellent sound consistency for your workstation. To optimize performance, Focal has chosen a 1” inverted dome aluminum tweeter, to ensure optimal and wide dispersion of high frequencies within the listening environment, and a special Slatefiber cone. This mid-low woofer is exclusively produced by Focal in its Saint-Étienne factory and is distinguished by being made of recycled carbon fiber blended with thermoplastic polymer. The compound gives the cone a particular and pleasant bluish hue. The combination of these two materials results in remarkable acoustic performance in terms of transduction speed, rigidity, and damping, which provide excellent dynamic rendition and a more natural balance across the spectrum. Focal was the first company in the world in the audio field to use recycled carbon fiber in transducers.

The cabinet of the Focal Alpha EVO 50 amplified studio speakers is made of 15mm thick MDF reinforced by an internal structure that makes them extremely robust, minimizing acoustic susceptibility even at high sound pressure levels. The dimensions of this model are 310x228x239mm and the weight of each speaker is 5.95KG. The bass-reflex uses a wide front port for laminar airflow aimed at containing turbulence and distortion in the reproduced signal. This translates into excellent integration in any listening setup, be it home, on a van, or in a treated environment. Focal's usual attention to design has led to the addition of attractive side panels made of plastic that perfectly match both the concept of acoustic performance and the aesthetic objective.
