Description

Adio Air BS 50 is a portable battery-powered amplifier for electric bass from Vox's "Transistor" series, delivering 50 Watts of power through 2 standard 3" speakers. It offers 11 amp models, 8 effects, an instrument input, an AUX input, headphone output, a USB port for use as an audio interface, the ability to save sounds in programs, Bluetooth connectivity, and the option to edit sounds via the Tone Room software. It's the ideal solution for bassists seeking a device for practicing, playing, and recording anywhere.

OVERVIEW OF THE VOX ADIO AIR BS 50

The ADIO AIR BS amplifier is perfect for guitarists looking for a solution to practice, record, and play. Thanks to its numerous amplifier simulations and effects, you can have your favorite sound and much more. The Adio series represents a new style of VOX modeling amp with a cutting-edge look featuring classic Vox diamonds. This amplifier delivers rich sound through its 50 Watts and two 3" speakers, along with realistic amplifier simulations. With the free Tone Room software, your Adio evolves freely with your inspiration. Integrated Bluetooth allows you to manage all controls remotely without cables. You can edit parameters and enjoy high-quality audio streaming. Adio is a multifunctional amplifier and audio speaker that can be used at home in your living room, on stage, or anywhere else.

50W amplifier that surpasses its size

Despite being compact and lightweight, the Adio features a high-wattage power amplifier boasting 50W of stereo output. It offers surprising volume, exceeding that of other amplifiers in its class. The 2 x 3" stereo speaker system ensures an incredible playback and listening experience. Thanks to its ability to deliver such high power, the Adio is equally effective as an practice amplifier at home and as a full-fledged gigging amplifier.

Proprietary frame design ensures powerful, clear sound

The Adio offers both the cabinet resonance of a guitar/bass amplifier and the high fidelity of home audio speakers. Thanks to new concepts utilized in the cabinet structure, the multi-purpose Adio excels in both scenarios. It features a bass-reflex structure that delivers sound density far exceeding the unit's size, and an inner cabinet that emanates the sense of spaciousness and depth expected from stereo speakers. The speakers are housed in a sophisticated slanted-body design, creating powerful, high-quality sound that shines in both performance and listening.

Split cabinet design

To prevent unwanted cabinet resonance, the internal box that secures the speakers is completely separated from the rear cabinet. Additionally, the inner cabinet separates the L and R speakers into independent spaces to produce stereo playback with a greater sense of spacious spaciousness. Rigidity is enhanced by a frame design that minimizes parallel surfaces, eliminating unwanted vibrations that would negatively affect sound quality.

Speaker frame with honeycomb structure

The front grille uses a honeycomb structure that perforates the speaker area with a series of hexagons. This effectively maintains strength while ensuring maximum space. The high aperture ratio means the speaker is not obstructed, allowing for clear and direct sound.

The ported design further enhances low-frequency reproduction

The bass-reflex section utilizes a flair-type component that creates a smooth widening at the inlet and outlet of the cabinet's duct. This minimizes unwanted noise and improves the efficiency of the bass reflex to further enhance low-frequency reproduction.

Unique shape improves the listening experience

The Adio's unique slanted design allows it to be positioned with the speakers facing diagonally upwards, so that the output reaches the ears directly even at a short distance. This means you can always enjoy playing or listening in the sweet spot. The frame has been designed to minimize parallel surfaces, delivering homogeneous sound that suppresses internal resonances.

A handle integrated into the cabinet

Thanks to a recessed slot in the rear of the cabinet, the Adio combines an elegant appearance with convenient portability.

Battery power with eight hours of continuous operation

Despite its high output power, the Adio can also run on batteries. Eight AA batteries allow for up to eight hours of continuous operation. Weighing only 2.9 kg, the Adio is also extremely portable. You can take it with you to enjoy playing or listening anywhere.

VOX's proprietary VET (Virtual Element Technology) modeling technology

The Adio uses VET (Virtual Elements Technology). Instead of simply imitating the output sound of the original amplifier, VET technology meticulously models its components and circuit design. Without relying on the ears of individual engineers or being influenced by the conditions of a specific amplifier, VET perfectly reproduces the characteristics of the original amplifier. And it features high-performance DSP to ensure high sound quality. In addition, the ADIO AIR BS's distortion algorithms have been perfected, allowing you to enjoy a top-level touch response that reflects the finest picking nuances without obscuring them.

Up to 17 types of realistic and wide-ranging amplifier models

The total of 11 amplifier models includes not only classic amplifiers, but also slap, rock, and modern ones. We have only included truly usable amplifier models, fine-tuned to maximize the potential of the compact Adio. Using the Tone Room software, you can choose from a total of 17 types of amplifier models. From a bass synthesizer to guitar amplifier models, this single unit allows you to enjoy a variety of amplifier sounds. A full range of effects is also present: four types of effects such as compressor and auto-wah (FX1) and four ambience-type effects such as delay and reverb (FX2). As befits the Adio with its stereo speakers, it also features high-quality effects and can use a total of three effects simultaneously, including noise reduction. As with the amplifier models, using the Tone Room software you can choose from a total of 19 types of effects: 11 for FX1 and 8 for FX2.

Via Bluetooth, via USB - The Tone Room software extracts the essence of the Adio

The included Tone Room editor/librarian software allows you to choose from an even richer selection of amp models and effects, and to fully exploit the potential of the Adio by customizing detailed parameters and audio EQ settings. You can save up to eight custom amps and effects to the Adio. Tone Room runs on multiple platforms: Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. The Adio Air also supports Bluetooth MIDI, so you can control parameters wirelessly, allowing you to design your sound effortlessly using your favorite device.

Via Bluetooth, via AUX - Excellent performance as a listening speaker

The Adio performs just as well as an audio speaker, delivering pure, analog-quality sound. With a high power of 50 W, the Adio delivers an extremely clear and well-balanced sound from low to high ranges. The Adio Air also supports Bluetooth audio. You can connect it to your computer or smartphone via Bluetooth and use it to play your favorite music from both devices. Whether for personal enjoyment in the living room or bedroom, background music in a store, or outdoor use, you can enjoy an optimal listening experience in a variety of situations that take advantage of this unit's high output power, battery operation, and compact size. Of course, there is also an AUX input. This is a convenient way to enjoy jam sessions while listening to your favorite tracks.

Virtual surround experience with Acoustage

The Adio is equipped with the "Acoustage" virtual surround technology. Simply activate this function to achieve a surprisingly wide stereo effect. This feature is particularly impressive when used in combination with a stereo effect, creating a guitar/bass amplifier that makes you feel as if you are on a vast stage, or experiencing unparalleled surround space as if you were inside a lavish multi-channel audio speaker setup.

* What is Acoustage (Virtual Surround Technology by KORG)?
It is a revolutionary virtual surround technology developed by KORG, which allows you to create a unique personal acoustic space. Using only the front stereo speakers, it is capable of producing an unprecedented three-dimensional acoustic experience. It offers the best possible result because it performs an acoustic analysis of the actual playback system and optimizes various aspects of the system accordingly.

Audio Equalizer

The unit offers four preset EQ settings that can be selected as desired. In addition, you can use the Tone Room software to make detailed adjustments to each frequency band of the parametric equalizer. You can also use Tone Room to set up VOX's original "Bassilator" circuit, which covers the low-frequency range not reached by the equalizer, allowing you to enjoy ultra-low sounds you wouldn't expect from a unit of this size. You can store up to four of the EQ settings you've made.

Noise Reduction

To reduce unwanted noise when using high-gain sounds, a noise reduction function is available. The function can be adjusted in five stages.

Auto tuner

The Adio also offers an essential tuning function for guitarists and bassists. The tuner also supports half-down tuning mode.

USB audio interface

Since the Adio has a USB port, you can connect it to your computer or tablet and use the Tone Room software, or use the Adio as a USB audio interface to record and play back your performances. The Tone Room software allows you to choose from three types of routing: mono/stereo recording or re-amp.

Included JamVOX III modeling software

Thanks to the included JamVOX III modeling software, you can enjoy playing guitar on your PC. You can take advantage of the GXT function that allows you to erase or extract/emphasize a specific part from an existing song; you can also use the music player function to loop a song you are learning or practicing, and even change its tempo. ASIO drivers are supported, so you can record and play back even through software other than JamVOX III, such as a DAW or a guitar amp simulator.
