This set introduces a revolutionary principle never before adopted: instead of changing the diameters of the strings that make up the set, their specific weight is modified while keeping the diameter as constant as possible. As is well known, to achieve lower frequencies, the string's diameter must be increased. However, with an increase in diameter, there is also a detrimental increase in its internal damping: the string therefore appears less bright and responsive to touch, in other words, 'muffled'.
