Naturally, to achieve lower frequencies, it is necessary to increase the diameter of the string, but in doing so, the sound quality gradually deteriorates due to the phenomenon of internal damping within the string. This results in a duller, more muffled, and less responsive sound according to the following law: the thicker the string, the more muffled the sound. Aquila Corde's revolutionary approach (never introduced before) involves increasing the density of each individual plain string in order to compensate for this acoustic loss. By proceeding in this way, the diameter variation between the plain strings is considerably reduced. The instrument, therefore, sounds more responsive, clear, powerful, and extraordinarily homogeneous across all strings and in all fretboard positions, especially those beyond the 12th fret. The intonation of the fretted string is better thanks to the smaller variation between diameters. Until now, this result has only been achieved by Harps where, in order to limit the problem described above, the vibrating length of the progressively lower strings is continuously increased. The GUILELE/GUITALELE RED SERIES guarantees superior performance compared to more traditional strings on the market, and is suitable for all those who prefer power, brilliance, but also singability and homogeneity along the entire fretboard.
