The Pearly Gates neck captures all the mojo of Billy Gibbons' original 1959 Les Paul neck pickup. It's a P.A.F. with a unique tonal variation that provides more midrange than typical humbuckers of the time. The result is a neck pickup that cuts through with stronger tailored mids, but still has the open and airy treble attack of the alnico 2 bar magnet. Combined with a warm and spongy low end, this pickup is great for both rhythm and lead. Seymour discovered that Billy's bridge pickup had a slightly higher output than most P.A.F.s. The alnico 2 bar magnet keeps the high end airy yet focused, and the midrange emphasis gives it a unique Texas sizzle. It really has a growl all its own and will help bring any humbucker-equipped instrument to life. Hand built in our Santa Barbara, California factory, Pearly Gates vintage output humbucker pickups use an alnico 2 bar magnet, nickel silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and are vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance. The Pearly Gates bridge is available with standard humbucker and Trembucker spacing.
