The X1A is equipped with a switch for signal attenuation and one for the high-pass filter. The attenuation switch is located on the front left side of the microphone body. Once activated, the input signal is attenuated by 20 dB, allowing it to handle very strong or very close sources without distortion. It also prevents saturation of the input stage of preamplifiers on audio interfaces or mixers.
