The tone control is of the DTC type, meaning Dynamic Tone Control. In practice, it interacts with the gain control: when high levels of distortion are used, the sound becomes rich and open, so the tone should be adjusted accordingly; conversely, with low gain, the sound is more closed and less harmonic, opening the tone compensates for this completely natural characteristic. The Moon Drive is equipped with an always-on Class A buffer, characterized by very high input impedance. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis allows it to maintain every detail of your sound, providing definition and space between notes, and it can also easily reject radio interference. The Moon Drive features a system against ground loop; however, for this system to function completely, it is necessary to power the pedal with a specific power supply not connected to other pedals (like Boss PSA or equivalent) or with a power supply equipped with galvanically isolated outputs. The Moon Drive can also work with power supplies shared with other pedals. \u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\nThe CostaLab Moon Drive is equipped with a \"Buffered\" mechanical switch system with an always-on buffer and an anti-pop system. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\nPower is 9 volts DC and connects via the classic 2.1 mm DC connector with a center negative. Current draw is less than 20 mA. The unit can also operate with a 9-volt battery. In this case, the circuit is activated by inserting the input jack. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\nTo prolong battery life, it is advisable to remove the input jack from the socket when not in use.
